Recently, Shanghai Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital (Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center) successfully held the kick-off meeting for the clinical trial project “Treatment of Pulmonary Nodules” using the micro-nano second synergistic electric pulse tumor ablation system (Wknife) developed and produced by Hangzhou winonco Medical Technology Co., Ltd. This clinical trial project is led by Director Li Zhong of the Department of General Surgery of Shanghai Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital (Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center) as the principal investigator. The holding of this kick-off meeting marks that, following the treatment of pancreatic cancer, the “Wknife” series of products has taken another important step toward the treatment of pulmonary diseases.
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the efficacy, safety and feasibility of the micro-nano second synergistic electric pulse tumor ablation system in the treatment of pulmonary nodules (AAH), bringing good news to more patients. The study has been approved by the Medical Ethics Committee of Shanghai Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital (Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center), and the institution has agreed to establish the project.

The micro-nano second synergistic electric pulse tumor ablation system applies a synergistic pulse sequence composed of high-voltage nanosecond pulses and high-voltage microsecond pulses to the patient’s soft tissue, targeting the inner and outer membranes of tumor cells, causing irreversible electroporation of the tumor cells, inducing tumor cell necrosis, and precisely and thoroughly ablating the target tissue. At the same time, the ablation zone can be precisely sculpted and controlled by means of a single or multiple electrode needles, eliminating the lesion, protecting important tissues, effectively reducing surgical difficulty and lowering patient treatment costs.
If you, or someone around you, is a patient who meets the following criteria and is able to receive treatment, return visits and examinations in accordance with the doctor’s requirements, you may sign up to participate:
1. Age: 18–70 years old, no gender restriction;
2. Pulmonary nodule confirmed by cytology or histopathology;
3. Maximum nodule diameter ≤3 cm;
4. ECOG performance status ≤2;
5. The patient understands the trial process and voluntarily signs the informed consent form.
(The above are important inclusion criteria; whether a participant ultimately passes screening and is enrolled in the study is determined by the study physician.)
You may contact Shanghai Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital (Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center) through the following channels. The hospital will follow up on your subsequent treatment and follow-up visits throughout the whole process, providing you with convenience in accessing care.

The Department of General Surgery of Yangzhi Rehabilitation Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University (Shanghai Sunshine Rehabilitation Center) was established in 2022. At present, the department has 5 physicians in the field of surgery. Under the leadership of Professor Li Zhong, the administrative director of the department, the department is dedicated to surgical cryo-interventional minimally invasive ablation, rehabilitation of surgical complications (fistulas and wounds), and surgical cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and has achieved remarkable results. Surgical procedures carried out throughout the year include cryoablation biopsy, fistula repair, debridement and drainage, and empyema debridement. Cryoablation biopsy of pulmonary nodules, perioperative rapid rehabilitation techniques (ERAS) for various complex cardiopulmonary conditions, and postoperative cardiopulmonary rehabilitation will become the department’s key development directions.

Hangzhou winonco Medical Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech company that drives innovative medical technology R&D oriented by clinical needs, and focuses on developing minimally invasive tumor treatment solutions.
The winonco R&D team is a pioneer and trailblazer in the theory and practice of irreversible electroporation for tumors. Since 2000, when it was the first in the world to propose the new concept of treating tumors with irreversible electroporation, it has successively proposed and developed three generations of irreversible electroporation technology, consistently leading the global upgrading and replacement of irreversible electroporation medical products.
You are welcome to follow us and witness together how minimally invasive tumor treatment solutions are forged.
